NOW SLEEP Peace has come. Now you can truly sleep, my son. The muddy field where you were laid Flag-draped will now be green. Redbud and cherry blossoms can be seen Soon in bloom above your head. Arlington's Eternal Flame Flickers across granite rows To illuminate your name And then beneath it (with lightning's calm) Strikes in black the word VIETNAM On your own stone. Peace has come. Your medals may turn green In time, like your beret But forever there are those who'll say, 'I live because he cared he came!'

A GRATEFUL AMERICAN
RHODE ISLAND USA
***TO HONOR AN AMERICAN HERO NOT FORGOTTEN***

PFC WHITE U.S. ARMY - You are an American hero whose ultimate sacrifice on March 5, 1967 will not be forgotten. Rest well brave soldier. Thank you for your sacrifice and honorable service to this great nation. You will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved you. "SOLDIER" By George L. Skypeck , RegTM All Rights Reserved (No reproduction without prior permission By Mr. Skypeck)~~ I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness should I fail. I have seen the face of terror felt the stinging cold of fear and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. I have cried, pained, and hoped but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten at least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was A SOLDIER

Dear PFC Donald Eugene White, sir As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned. With respect, Sir Curt Carter

I remember you daily, as I walk by the picture of you in my home. The pictures of you in your uniform. They belonged to Grandma and Grandpa and now after all these years they are mine. It is there beside the picture of your brother also taken from us in this war. I was only eight years old when they told me you would not come home. You were so big, kind and full of life. A football star to all of us and a hero too. I will not let you or anyone else on this wall be forgotten
