?You are Remembered?
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. "He which hath no stomach to this fight let him depart. But we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother?. Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

Tony will always be remembered!
Tony was the first casualty from the 3rd platoon and one that shocked all team members to the core. I'll always regret not be able to successfully help Tony that terrible November day. Whenever there is a moment of silence or a silent prayer for veterans, I always say a prayer for Tony and his family.

I still remember him in my prayers and feel he is looking down on his family and fellow comrades.Writing is not easy with tears in my eyes because if you had not taken point that fatefull day it would be me on the wall. God be with you, uoyr friend Jim.

Never Forgotten
FOREVER REMEMBERED
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you....and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.....Be not ashamed to say you loved them....
Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own....And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind...."
Quote from a letter home by Maj. Michael Davis O'Donnell
KIA 24 March 1970. Distinguished Flying Cross: Shot down and Killed while attempting to rescue 8 fellow soldiers surrounded by attacking enemy forces.
We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you, one of the gentle heroes lost to the War in Vietnam:
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.
From your Nam-Band-Of-Brothers

Walking point in the jungle
Dear Anthony...you were the platoon's point man that terrible day in November 1966. Because of your sacrifice, the majority of us in the search and destroy mission made it out of that terrible ambush alive. Although I was new to the unit and never got to know you personally, I want you and your family to know how much your bravery meant to me. As time progresses, and I too am embraced by God, I'll finally be able to shake your hand and say a heartfelt thank you.
Thank You
am leaving remembrances as part of a class project of Gridley High School, located in Gridley Illinois for random veterans thanking them for the great contribution they have given our nation. In our nations ever more trying times it is great to be able to have an example like yours to look upon. Thank you for leaving a legacy for new generation of our nation to realize.
Mangrove swamps
It was in the mangrove swamps, called the Rung Sat area.Thirteen wounded taken out that night, and one KIA, Tony Martin. Two machine guns were left behind to cover the VC's withdrawal, they did a lot of damage.
A Kid from A3/22, Michael Pennell drowned trying to cross the river to re-enforce you guys on the other side.
I didn't cross until the next day. We ambushed two VC sampans that next night. Our reunion group, C3/22 Inf Assoc,is gathering in Tony's home state(LA) this summer.
We'll remember you there.
