PFC Anderson entered the Army on 3 February 1942 at Scott Field, Illinois..  He was serving as a Military Policeman stationed in Camp Callan, San Diego, California.

He was killed in a car accident while on duty,

Camp Callan had been built as a training replacement center for the Coast Artillery Corps/Anti-Aircraft , U.S. Army.
