70th Training Division (Functional Training) Details
70th Infantry Division on 15 June 1943. In 1945 the 70th was inactivated at Camp Kilmer, N.J. In 1952 it was allotted to the Organized Reserve Corps, now known as the Army Reserve. Later the same year the 70th was redesignated as the 70th Division (Training). It remained in Detroit until 1968, when it was moved to Livonia, Mich. The 70th Division (Training) was formally inactivated in Michigan on Nov. 15, 1996. It was redesignated for the U.S. Army 70th Regional Support Command effective 16 November 1996. It was amended to correct the description on 14 July 1999. The insignia was redesignated for the 70th Regional Readiness Command effective 16 July 2003. It was redesignated for the 70th Training Division (Functional Training) effective 16 October 2007. (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-120)
