Lt. Roberts was serving as a Forward Observer with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division at the time of his death. He and four other members of the unit were killed in the action of that day.
Charles was interred at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Garvin County, Oklahoma.
He left a wife and daughter at his passing. His wife passed away in May 2009.

LT Roberts was a graduate of Maysville (OK) High School and the University of Oklahoma (BBA, 1967).
