I'm retired and have been heavily involved as an author for my book called "Richard Wetherill: Uncovering the the American Southwest." The book is about my grandfather, Richard Wetherill who was first to enter the Ruins of Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House in Mesa Verde, Colorado in 1888. Richard was also the first to recognize the Basket Maker culture at Cave 7 in Utah in 1893. This site is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in North America.
Richard Wetherill was murdered in 1910 at Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. My book uncovered who was ultimately responsible for Richard's murder and a government cover up which protected the scoundrel that was responsible for the murder.
The book has been a 20 year research project and years of writing. I am hoping to publish the book in 2022
I am also the webmaster for wetherillfamily.com. I am also involved in the family farming operation, raising alfalfa and fescue grass as well as raising black angus cattle.
