T/5 Edward Beal entered the Army on 15 January 1943 from Bangor, Maine.

He served with Troop B, 2nd Cavalry Reeconnaissance Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Mechanized Cavalry Group.

He died of wounds suffered in combat 1 Jan 1945, Manternach, Luxembourg during the relief of Bastogne.

He was interred in Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge, Washington County, Maine in 1948.
