Sgt. Raymond Michaels - RA 19256421 B; 1928 Alameda County, California.  D: September 12, 1950 in South Korea.  Received a postumous Silver Star.  It was presented to his parents on February 22, 1951.  He served in the Coast Guard during WWII (1945 - 1947 apparently at 17) and enlisted in the Army when his Coast Guard enlistment expired.  He was then sent to Japan with the 25th Reconnassaince Company of the 25th Infantry Division for Occupation Duty, probably as an MP as most of the unit was at the time.  He became a 0345, a Light Truck Driver, probably a Truck Utility 1/4 Ton 4x4 M38A1, or, in other words, a Jeep.  His body was returned on the SS Santa Clara Victory which arrived in San Francisco on Saturday, July 7, 1951.  He was buried at Sunset View Cemetery in California on Saturday, July 13, 1951.  His parents were: Nathan (Nate) Michaels and Hilda Michaels.  His brother was Nathan Michaels and his sister was Betty Guptill.  His dad was a Mail Carrier in San Lorenzo, California for years
