This is the dust jacket on my book "Treat 'Em Rough!: The Birth of American Armor, 1917-20. A polished version of my doctoral dissertation, it was published by Presidio Press in 1989 and was a dual main selection of the Military Book Club in 1990. The cover art, a WWI Tank Corps recruiting poster, makes the book look like a comic book rather than a serious historical work. In fact, the subtitle and my name are almost lost and resulted in the book being cataloged as "Treat 'em Rough!: Join the Tanks" in some libraries.
