I was mis-assigned to crew on a M551 Sheridan, During this time in the service there was a major personnel shortage. Normal crew on a Sheridan was 4, in our Sqd. it was 2! I was OJT on A-15 (Platoon Sgt. track) He wasn't around to help, but Barney in A-14 was. He showd me alot! We became great firends! Barney ETS out of the Army in June 1974, I was home on leave. When I got back I was told Barney had drown during a fishing trip saving his brother. Barney is still with me to this day, as are all the 3/12 CAV troopers. I think of them often.
