We traveled light during combat tracker training. No steel helmets, no shelter-half or other traditional sleeping gear, and no shaving gear or toiletries other than a wash cloth. We each drew a jungle hammock and when we bedded down for the night it was spread out, with no local security. The idea was to be as invisible as possible. No snoring allowed! Note the nonstandard knife I was authorized to carry hanging from the belt below my right hand.
