The 1st Military Police Company was originally constituted on 24 May 1917 in the Regular Army as a Military Police element of Headquarters Train and Military Police, 1st Expeditionary Division. The 1st Expeditionary Division was redesignated n 6 July 1917 as the 1st Division. The 1st Division was redesignated on 19 August 1942 as the 1st Infantry Division.
