Reflections on SFC Biddle's
US Army Service
PLEASE DESCRIBE WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE ARMY.
I enlisted in June 1971 when I found out that I could complete my senior year of High School during my enlistment through the Army Education Center at my first permanent duty station, which I did. I decided to end my term of service in January 1979 to pursue continuing my education while working full time to support a family. Well, That plan didn't work out too well and proved to be difficult at best. I had an almost 9 month break in service that resulted in the loss of 1 rank when I reenlisted in September 1979. Just one in a string of career limiting factors sustained in my 20 years of service. Unfortunately, you don't get do overs in life, you just have to accept what was, learn from your mistakes, and move on.
