God Bless You
On April 22, 2008 I was in Washington DC and took time to visit the war memorials. As always, I am so moved and so humbled in thoughts of the great men who died for our country. As I was visiting the Vietnam Memorial, I came across Gary Lee Hobbs name on the wall. Since I personally do not know anyone listed on the wall, I chose Gary Lee Hobbs to think about and personally offer my thanks and appreciation for this young soldier who died for America. I would love to know more about this great American if anyone viewing this has information.
Thank you Gary Lee Hobbs for giving your life for our freedoms. God Bless You!

THE EARTH SITS IN SILENCE TONIGHT, FOR AN ANCIENT HYMN TO BEGIN AGAIN. NOT WISHING FOR DRUMS OF WAR. BECAUSE WARS ECHO STILL REVERBERATES LIKE THE LONG AGO MUFFLED DRUMBEATS OF SOBBING HEARTS. THE EARTH STILL HOLDS THEM TIGHTLY TONIGHT. REFUSING TO LET GO SUCH PRECIOUS THINGS, WHILE YOUR SPACE BECAME ENGRAVED SORELY.

For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother”. Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

Remembering An American Hero
Posted on 11/26/13 - by Curt Carter ccarter02@earthlink.net

Dear PFC Gary Lee Hobbs, sir As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned. May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you. With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir Curt Carter

Message about my friend
Posted on 11/17/98 - by Arthur Dolge

I was a good friend of Gary's We went through 2 years of High School together. Gary had one more year left (1966), when I entered the U.S. Navy,1968-1981, aboard the U.S.S. Hancock (1970-72) and I thought I had it bad there. I always wondered what happened to my friends and when I found Gary on the 'Wall', and I had an inkling that Gary would be there, I had heard from friends and family that Gary had fell, but, it didn't make it any easier the first time I came up on the net for a look see to see if old friends made it home, I guess most did because I  cannot find them in the listings, and I thank My God for that....
