I had the opportunity to visit The Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC. I was so overwhelmed with sorrow and pain that I could not hold back the tears for those heroes and their families who lost so much. Though my visit to the Wall was a few years ago, I feel that I left a piece of my heart there. To honor those who died in the Vietnam War and to say thank you I created a small tribute to those heroes. Please click on the link above to view memorial website.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Ollie Leslie Sauls Jr, sir As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned. May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you. With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir Curt Carter

About a week before he died, Ollie and a fellow GI affected the rescue of three members of his platoon who were isolated and pinned down by heavy enemy fire.
