Gramps, thought a lot about you lately. I'll always remember the way you would grin when joining the group. I was on R&R when it happened and when I returned your stuff was gone. helleva way to lose a friend forever.

we were in the same platoon
Russ Williams was in D Troop, 3/4 Cavalry, 25th Infantry Div. Centaurs aero-rifle platoon. If I remember correctly, Russ was shot while being inserted or extracted by one of our choppers. He was a nice guy. Rest in peace, brother. You are not forgotten. Jim B. We were both from Illinois.
