Lt, another reunion has come and gone and again you are on our minds. We never cease to remember how you impacted our lives in just a short time. SFC Maxey not doing very good but he is hanging in there. The day you died was a terrible day. Cpt Jackson was wounded and medevaced out, Sgt Smith was killed also. Just to let ya know all the troopers think of you often, and to let ya know your spirit will always be alive as long as there is a Trooper from B Troop, that was there on that fatal day

LT, I knew you. You shared my tent at Lai Khe only a few days before your chopper was shot down and you died. Denny Leach was with you, and was injured. I remember you well, and have felt your death on so many occasions. You were a good man.hell, you still are. Rest in Heaven knowing that another soldier here on earth remembers you well. SGT Spawr

I will never forget
Lt. Thompson, I will never forget that day. I was the dismount on the ground beside Your track. We were at a pause and I was clearing bunkers to the left of Your track. You smiled at me and I remember thinking You were probably thinking the same thing I was, that Just another 100 meters to the clearing ahead of us. Then maybe we would head for a night lauger position or even better a fire-support base. But when we moved out we had only moved a few feet before an RPG hit Your track. That was the last I saw of You and SGT. Hyatt. I only saw "Dutch" the driver comming up out of the track. He was disoriented and blinded by the blood covering his Face. I was hit in the neck and shoulder by the schrapnel of that same blast. I ran to the track and grabbed "Dutch" by the collar. I started running with him to the Med. Track. We were intercepted by two of Our men. Who took us to the Med. Track. I was telling them no,no, there are still two men on the track. I was told that another RPG had hit the track. I'm sorry I could not get back to You and SGT. Hyatt. My heart cries for You and SGT. Hyatt on a weekly basis. I never knew You personally, but Your peaceful smile is etched in my memory.

My other Tom
You were from LA and to a Louisville girl, that made you pretty slick. I remember you kidding around with Phil and Emo at the parties at our apartment. I remember seeing you in your jump suit at dawn at Ft. Benning, just out of Ranger training, skinny as a rail, with what you called "swamp fungus" all over your face. You had such spirit, such character. You were always a gentleman. I'll never forget you.

I still remember the day
It’s been 32 years, but it seems like yesterday, when you were taken away. you are not forgotten, we talk about you at reunions always, and I find myself looking at your picture often. Had you survived 3-2-69, I know you would have gone to the top. A west Point officer who knew the meaning of leadership, and taking care of his soldiers. sadly missed
