For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless You for your Sacrifice!!!

Vietnam Veterans Remembrance
Soldiers are the true heroes everyone dreams about and idolizes. They defend the ones they love, and those they don’t, so people can all live safely and not worry about anything. The Wall lets us remember your name and memory. Sadly, it does not give you the justice you deserve. Because of The Wall That Heals, you will all be remembered forever for the greatness you have contributed to this country. However, the true effect and impact you have given to us all does not lie etched into The Wall, but carved in our hearts and souls.
In commemoration of the twentieth anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Roundtable, and on behalf of the student body of Charlotte High School, thank you then, thank you now, and thank you always for what you have given us. Thank you for giving us what you really deserved. Too many sacrificed a life of freedom, to selflessly provide each of us with a life of contentment

David, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well and thank you.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
I WAS WRITING TO DAVID AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH, THROUGH A LOCAL PROGRAM TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS IN VIETNAM. AFTER HIS DEATH, I LOCATED HIS MOTHER AND BROTHER IN MICHIGAN AND CORRESPONDED WITH THEM A FEW TIMES.
RECENTLY, ON A TRIP THROUGH THE WESTERN STATES, I HAPPENED UPON THE VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL IN ANGEL FIRE, NEW MEXICO. WHILE THERE, I REMEMBERED DAVID, AND LOOKED HIM UP ON THEIR COMPUTER. I HAD ALREADY BEEN FAMILIAR WITH MARK MARCANTEL'S ... CAJUN HOME PAGE ... AND KNEW HE HAD THIS SITE LINKED TO HIS. BUT, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE VISITED ... OR ... AS A MATTER OF FACT, HAD THE COURAGE TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANY CONNECTION TO THE WAR ... SINCE DAVID'S DEATH.
I WANT TO SAY, THE ANGEL FIRE MEMORIAL IS A GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL PLACE ... AND SO PEACEFUL ... IT IS HARD TO IMAGINE IT BEING CONNECTED TO ANYTHING AS HORRIBLE AS WAR.
I WOULD LIKE TO FIND DAVID'S BROTHER, DANIEL ... BUT IN MY INTERNET SEARCHES ... ALWAYS COME UP EMPTY-HANDED. I KNOW THAT HIS MOTHER PASSED AWAY QUITE SOME TIME AGO.
NOW, SEEING THAT NO ONE HAS EVER PUT ANYTHING HERE FOR DAVID ... IT MAKES ME SAD, THAT I LOST CONTACT. YOU DO NOT SAY HERE THAT YOU CAN CONNECT US WITH SURVIVORS ... BUT, MAYBE SOMEDAY, DANIEL OR SOMEONE IN HIS FAMILY WILL SEE THIS ... AND KNOW ... THAT SOMEONE IN THIS WORLD ... STILL THINKS OF DAVID ... FROM TIME TO TIME. THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO SAY THESE THINGS HERE. AND ... MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL YOUR ENDEAVORS. MACILE HOOPER LEJEUNE, SULPHUR, LA. MACILE9436@AOL.COM
