Bennie It has taken me a long time to find you on the wall, but now? I have a tracing of your name that hangs proudly with Richard Powell another great buddy from the 25th. I really miss you guys and I'm still trying to find sergeant dale warren I know he was wounded the day you lost your life and I hope to someday find him and your family so I can tell you how much you all mean to me.

Bennie I was just surfing through the wall and looking at all the heroes. I want to take this time to let you know that even after all these years, there are a lot of us who haven't forgotten you and the many like you. Your ride home on the big bird was not the same as mine, and I only hope your family has been able to continue with their lives and most of the scars that war created have healed.

Dear SP4 Bennie Allen Smith, sir As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned. May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you. With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir Curt Carter
