I was with you the day you were killed.

You and two other infantry dismounts had ridden on my track out to the field to perform a sweep of an area where many enemy had been seen on 12/11/68. Upon arrival at our coordinates, all three of you dismounted and started a sweep of the area. The last thing that I had said to all of you was to be careful and keep your heads down. All three of you were killed instantly by snipers before you had walked 20 feet. I want you to know that I personally avenged your death by seeing and killing the two Viet Cong soldiers that were waiting for that ambush. It will not bring you back in any way, but I would hope that you by knowing this may in some way know that you did not die in vain. Today I have just found your name to go with a soldier that I had been searching for a long time. You surely died a HERO in my eyes and I hope we will meet again someday when I pass on. I love you brother, sincerely Sgt. Danny Chrisler.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 John Pizzuti, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Fellow Vietnam Vet-same Birthdate
REFLECTIONS FROM THE MOVING WALL". I am a monument to a black period in this countries history.I am the Vietnam wall.,composed to two angled granite walls, inscribed with the names of fifty eight thousand, one hundred thirty four American men and women who died in hell (that was Vietnam) Many people come to see me. strangely they come mostly in silence-old people, young people, children, mothers, fathers, widows, and veterans.all for reasons of their own.they bring gifts, pictures, letters, flowers, poems and cigarettes.the letters speak of grief and loneliness and regret.they ask forgiveness.they are an out pouring of pain.the people softly touch names on my face.they water my grass with tears.then they leave in silence and I hope in peace.for I am more than two stone walls.I am a thank you from a nation that forgot.I am a long past due apology.I am healing for wounds too long left untended.I am a tribute paid to fallen warriors.I AM THE VIETNAM WALL. "America has forgotten the wars.will she remember her warriors"? You may be gone , BUT YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN.

For all that you've done
Mr. Pizzuti,
I would like to thank you for all that you've done in the service to your country. I could not imagine losing my life at such a young age and it saddens me greatly to think of all of you that did. Your sacrifice was not in vein and you will not be forgotten.

My thanks to you and my prayers to you and your family
