God Bless My Brother
You were and always will be my Big Brother!! You always protected me and watched out for me and you continue to do so today. As all little sisters thought, you could have never done any wrong and you were the greatest person on God's Earth. You still are 'Buck' and your nephew Steve-my son-is just like you. You would have like my husband-he is a good man like you. Your niece-Angie-loves the stories as well as Steve, that I tell about you. And, since you aren't here, I can make them better than they were! I love you! Now and forever!!! Rita

NOW SLEEP Peace has come. Now you can truly sleep, my son. The muddy field where you were laid Flag-draped, will now be green. Redbud and cherry blossoms can be seen Soon in bloom above your head. Arlington's Eternal Flame Flickers across granite rows To illuminate your name And then beneath it (with lightning's calm) Strikes in black the word VIETNAM On your own stone. Peace has come. Your medals may turn green In time, like your beret But forever there are those who'll say, "I live because he cared he came!"

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP5 Harmon Wayne Perry, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Thank You
Hello, my name is Jamie Dennison. I am part of the Gridley High School posting project, and I just wanted to take time out of my busy and selfish schedule to write and thank you for everything you have done for this country. You probably did not realize that you gave up your time, family, friends, and future to rid yourself of selfishness. By doing so you gave me freedom and you gave me courage. Thank you for not being selfish and for doing what Christ wanted you to do for him. You will always be remembered in my life and the lives of others who come across your name and this remembrance.
Jesus Loves You, Jamie Dennison |
