A Note from The Virtual Wall
Although assigned to HHC, Sergeant Lyons was in the field with D Company. He received the Silver Star for an action in which he administered first aid under fire to two wounded men ... while on his way to a third he tripped a mine and received fatal wounds

I am his baby sister
I was only 5 when my brother left our large family. He was in many a hero. I would love to hear from Kevin Owens or anyone else that was with my brother that sad day.

Your Great Neice
Although you couldn't be there for him, your son turned out a great man. Although I could not meet you, & although we're not directly related, I wish to thank you for the hard work you put into everything you've done for this country, & this family. May you rest in peace, Uncle.

NOW SLEEP Peace has come. Now you can truly sleep,my son. The muddy field where you were laid Flag-draped, will now be green. Redbud and cherry blossoms can be seen Soon in bloom above your head. Arlington's Eternal Flame Flickers across granite rows To illuminate your name And then beneath it (with lightning's calm) Strikes in black the word VIETNAM On your own stone. Peace has come. Your medals may turn green In time, like your beret But forever there are those who'll say, "I live because he cared he came!"

30 Years Later
I can't believe 30 years has passed since

Tommy left us. I still miss him and all

the things we were going to do together

when he came back. I've been trying to do

them for both of us but it's not the same.

Your memory lives on
I regret that you are not here today, but your memory lives on. When I think of you, I will always remember what you did at Vietnam. You fought for the rights and freedoms of people that you had never met, and sacrificed the most important thing that you ever could... your life. As a proud American, I salute you, dear soldier. Rest in Peace.

I am a senior at Gridley High School in Gridley, IL. I write this remembrance to you as
part of the Gridley High School Posting Project, a Project that ensures that those brave
men and women whom either perished or went MIA during the Vietnam War are not
forgotten

Almost 33 Years!
It's been almost 33 years, since you left us. I can remember it like it was yesterday. You may be gone, but you are not forgotten. It is 2 weeks since Jimmy has left and I am sure the two of you are together. Both of you will be forever in my heart, and deeply loved and missed.
