In memory of John William Earnesty- I try to sign under a few names daily, usually on the date they gave the ultimate sacrifice.I chose you due to the similarities of your death and my fathers. He,too, was a career soldier, 37 a Lieutenant Colonel and did love his country. He gave the ultimate sacrifice for something he loved which should make it easier. The helicopter he was flying was shot down on May 1, 1966. I am an avid admirer of Billy Graham and he says you both are in a much better place than we here on earth but the circumstances under which you lost the final battle make it a difficult and bitter pill to swallow. Rest in peace, thank you for serving and I never say "good-bye" but see you later! Godspeed.

The Uncle I Never Knew, But I Will Always Cherish
I never met my uncle John, as I was born about 4 years after his death. From what I have learned, he loved his country, which was evident for the fact that he voluntarily served in WWII, Korean War, and at least 2 volunteer tours in Viet Nam. My father respected and loved my uncle so much that I was given my unlce's middle name and my older brother received his first name, so, like his memory, his name will live on. I have passed every thing I know about my uncle on to my children and I know they will do the same. Because History does not need to be feared nor forgotten, but cherished and remembered forever. Thank you, Uncle John! God Bless the USA!
