I remember you

Hello Uncle Timothy I remember you standing in the doorway saying good bye to the family on your way to Vietnam. Your nephew John was probably 18 moths and I was 6. You would have been 70 by now. Your sisters are with you now and older brother. The last time I was with you was at your grave site I had one of the casings from the 21 gun salute. Since then about 13 yrs. ago I became in contact with some of your comrades who sent me pictures. They said you were funny and a good guy.
Just wanted to say thank you for your service wish you came home standing up
Brother in Arms
Timmy, we all miss you. You were the life of the troop. We lost our soul when you died. You were such a special person to us all. Your life went unfulfilled and wasted by that war. There isn't a day goes by that we don't all think of you and your smile, singing and stories. I can still see you dancing around while telling jokes about your R&R. You were truly one of a kind.
I REMEMBER
TIMMY, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART, SINCE WE HUNG OUT AS COOL GUYS IN CLIFTON, WE WILL MEET AGAIN SOME DAY. YOURE PROBABLY UP THERE IN A POKER GAME WITH COYT, BOBBY AND BILL.

Flammer and I served in C Troop 3/4 Cav at the same time. He was one of the funniest guys I met there. I was wounded on May 13, 1967 and he was KIA July 3, 1967. I was in disbelief. He had a knack for knowing where the mines were, and was killed when he was watching the guys try to disarm one he had located and it went off. I miss him and his great sense of humor! As a footnote, he had extended his tour, if I remember correctly.

We Remember
Tim is buried at St Mary's Cemetery in Saint Bernard, OH
NEVER FORGOTTEN
FOREVER REMEMBERED
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you....and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.....Be not ashamed to say you loved them....
Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own....And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind...."
Quote from a letter home by Maj. Michael Davis O'Donnell
KIA 24 March 1970. Distinguished Flying Cross: Shot down and Killed while attempting to rescue 8 fellow soldiers surrounded by attacking enemy forces.
We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you, one of the gentle heroes lost to the War in Vietnam:
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

Timothy, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the utlitmate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you for protecting the freedoms we have today
