Just wanted Billy and all his friends to know I'm still here and still missing him. At this time of year, I wish my family would be more open about talking about Billy, but I know it was very painful for them all and pain isn't an emotion we Dailey's deal with very well! I am thankful for all Billy's friends and fellow soldiers who have contacted me and pray for you all - that your lives are happy, you are well, and you know how much your friendship with Billy means to us. Take care of yourselves. Billy Jack, I love you!!

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

Billy was my uncle. I was 7 when he died. I'm 45 years old and I still cry. His picture hangs in my living room along with my childrens' pictures. I loved Billy more than I can possibly make you understand. He teased me endlessly but I loved it! I spent the night at my grandma's as much as possible to be near him. One night I fell out of bed. I remember him picking me up but I didn't wake up, choosing instead to keep my eyes shut and feel his arms lifting me, then listening as he walked away. I was there as he packed his bags to leave for Vietnam. My mother told me recently that Billy told her he would never come home. He was 21 when he died. My grandmother told me that she cried all of her tears over Billy and was never able to cry after that. I believe her. I believe part of Billy lives in my 18-year-old son. He has so many characteristics that I remember Billy had. Billy was a friend of two mentally disabled boys that lived in our town and my son has done the same for kids at school since elementary school. They both have the most amazing sense of humor. It makes Matt even more dear to me. I will never forget Billy and I will make sure my children and grandchildren know about him.

Thank You!
Billy, Our class is doing a project to honor all the American Heros who gave their lives fighting for our country and what it stands for. We will never forget the courageous sacrifice that you made so others could know the freedom you knew. We will never be able to adequately thank or repay you, but we are sincerely grateful. You will always be remembered as an American Hero; courageous, brave, and free. God Bless you and your loved ones! Thank you!
