47 years ago you lost your life and we lost a great soul. Not many days go by that I don't think about that night. Hope to see you on the other side RIP Dave.

David, I was only in country, a little, over a month, and a half, but I still remember, the extream sadness, that you brought, about your fellow, crew members and the entire, third platoon, tank section, the night, you were killed. Time passes, but you, will always be remembered, you will not, be forgotten.

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

I hold you and those like you, in the highest regard and you, deserve nothing less! I love you, all, you were and always will be, HEROES, to me! I promise never, to take for granted the freedoms, I have, which you paid, the ultimate price for! Happy Birthday! I WILL REMEMBER YOU!!! Gratefully yours, Jenn

A purple heart, is his. A cold heart, is mine. Oh freedom, your price, is high. David was, a loader, on a tank. It was one, of the youngest, tank crews, in Viet Nam and all, were single. The night, they were killed, they weren't even, on their own patrol. They had taken, the patrol, for another tank crew, that had married men, in it. He had told us, they did this frequently, in hopes, that those men, would live and go home, to their wives and children. That was David, all over again. I hope those men, are all safe, with their families and I hope, they remember, an easy going, fun-loving, young man, from a small town, in Oregon, who thought families, were important enough, to risk, his life.

David, Thank you, for the sacrifice you made, for your country. I wish, that we would, have all come home, safely, to our loved, ones. Viet Nam, will always be with me, until the rest, of my days and the sheer horror, we endured. May you, again, be reunited, with your loved ones, who so dearly, miss you. ON that night, we were together, as we had been, since Dave, got there. Dave, Wendal Chamblis and myself. I think, the comander was, a sgt., Johnson. Chamblis was, driving and I, was gunner. I would, like to learn, more, about the small town. Dave

Never Forgotten
ALWAYS REMEMBERED
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul....and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.
