Gone, but not forgotten
Joe- Life will never be the same without you. You were my hero, long before you put on your military uniform. I recall the warm memories of our childhood, back in the black and white days. I remember forgetting my school lunch box. You offered me your sandwich, but I hated mustard. So, you handed over your packet of butterscotch cupcakes. I'm sure when I got home from school, I also ate the ones in my lunchbox! They are still a favorite of mine. Every time I buy them, I think of you. I remember walking home from school, and we forgot to take the key with us. You climbed into the coal bin and opened the door for us. Time passes. There are nieces and nephews, and the great nieces and nephews in the family. I tell the stories about you. You remain my hero...gone, but not forgotten. Until we see each other again... Love, Rita

REMEMBERING JOE, '70
THE MEMORIES, OF VIETNAM STILL HAUNT ME, BUT THROUGH, IT ALL, THERE ARE THOSE WHO WILL, ALWAYS REMAIN, BRIGHT SPOTS, IN THAT DARK, SITUATION. JOE WAS ONE OF THOSE, HE KEPT A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, EVEN, IN THE WORST, OF IT. I HAVE PICTURES TO SHARE, WITH ANYONE WHO, CONTACTS ME. 0ZZIE

“You are Remembered”
Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

BARBARA BROWN RANDOLPH
OUR HOMETOWN HERO
I knew Joe from school, though not well acquainted as he was a year ahead. He is, to my knowledge, the only Dallas High School graduate to have been killed in action in Vietnam. Others have served and made their personal sacrifices, also, but Joe made the eternal sacrifice for us all. When the Moving Wall came to Wilkes-Barre and more recently to Hazleton, I visited the panel where his name is engraved and said a prayer for him and his family. There should not be a Memorial Day ceremony in Dallas that Joe is not remembered along with all of our other veterans who served their country honorably. Joe's classmates should be humbled that they have a hero among them.

My Mom's Cousin
I have never heard about Joe- but he was very special to my mother Mary Kaschak.
I hope he rests in Gods hands as do his fallen friends
