Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings, Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds and done a hundred things. You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung, high in the sunlit silence, hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle flew, and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God. Thank You, PFC., Burns!
Didn't have the honor, of knowing, PFC., Burns and thousands, of other brave, vets., like him. You could, have ran to Canada, or remained in school, but you didn't. Our brave vets., answered the call, of an ungrateful nation, that sent them to die, in a "Police Action," she, never had intentions, of winning. Sorry, about the suffering, our heroes endured, in Asia. Feel great shame and sadness, recalling the abuse, inflicted on them, in their, own homeland. Think, about the Vietnam Vet., everyday, as they are perhaps, the bravest Americans, that ever lived. Never before, or after the "Police Action," has the American, military, stood alone, as the Vietnam Vet., did. I stand in awe, of your courage! Thank you, my heroes!

NEVER FORGOTTEN
FOREVER REMEMBERED
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you....and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.....Be not ashamed to say you loved them....
Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own....And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind...."
Quote from a letter home by Maj. Michael Davis O'Donnell
KIA 24 March 1970. Distinguished Flying Cross: Shot down and Killed while attempting to rescue 8 fellow soldiers surrounded by attacking enemy forces.
We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you , one of the gentle heroes and patriots lost to the War in Vietnam:
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Never Forgotten
Dear Soldier,
As years pass, our lives change and people move on from one happening to another. We often don’t stop to recognize all those that were killed in years past so that we could enjoy the many freedoms that we have today. The men and women who made the supreme sacrifice in hopes of a better tomorrow. Well, I want you to know that my classmates and I from Gridley who are working on the Gridley High School Posting Project for a history class, do remember you. And we are grateful. I have a better appreciation for all those who died serving our country in the war and I want you to know that you will always be remembered.
Sincerely,
Natalie Stoller
