We were called baby killers, now, they are called, hero 'warriors.'
In the four (4) and a half, months, that I knew, him, I can tell he was, a dedicated and compassionate, soldier and with, the heart, of a lion. We were, looked upon as baby killers, which we, were not and as a consequence we, couldn't find, a job and we didn't dare go, to the VA., Hospital, because even there, the employees treated, us, as animals. But for God's reason some, of us, are still around and STILL FIGHTING, for Viet-Nam, Veterans and have, made sure, the new generation, of veterans, be called HEROES even though, they haven't, have, to go through, the inhumane conditions, that Bailey and many others, had, to go through. Long live, the Viet-Nam Veterans!!!

Peace and condolence, to the family and friends. “He which hath no stomach, to this fight, let him depart. But we in it, shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!! For he today, that sheds his blood with me, shall always be my brother.” Rest in peace brave soldier, you have not been forgotten. (W.Shakespeare) May God Bless you, for your Sacrifice!!!

Grateful American
Wilmington, DE., USA
Tribute, to a "Better Man."
"War is, an ugly thing, but not the ugliest, of things: the decayed and degraded state, of moral and patriotic feelings, which thinks, that nothing is worth war, is much worse. A man, who has nothing for which, he is willing, to fight: nothing he cares, about more than, his own, personal safety: is a miserable creature, who has no chance, of being free, unless made and kept so, by the exertions and blood, of better men, than himself." Remembering An American Hero
Posted on 11/25/13 - by Curt Carter ccarter02@earthlink.net

Dear SP5 George Leroy Bailey, sir As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned. May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you. With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir Curt Carter

Angel Day
Posted on 12/30/09 - by Kathie

You may not have thought it at the time, but your service for your country was not and has not been in vain.
It took a long time for the country to appreciate the sacrifice you and the countless others on the wall made, but it has happened.
For me this is evident in the messages that are left here on this site, especially by young people expressing thanks to you all for what you have done. You are and will always be source of good and a hero to those lives you have touched -- young and old alike.
I have been to the Wall and the reverence there is unbelievable. The Wall is a sacred place to me. You all can be felt there.
So, on this your Angel Day please know that this American is so thankful for you and for your willingness to service your country and for the ultimate sacrifice you made in the name of freedom. Thank you -- you did make a difference.
