Other Memories Another trainee, while on line at the rifle range had been warned to keep his rifle "up and down". He kept looking around and rifle was moving with him. Our Drill Sgt warned him twice them pulled the mag and told him to step off the line
As the DS turned, the trained butt-stroked him in the back of the head. It took THREE of us to pull the DS off the idiot
The next day 1sgt Tom Weathers literally read us the "Riot Act". He made it very clear that any other actions such as this would not be tolerated. The trainee was courts-martialed and if I remember correctly got 20 years.
