Personal Memories

Best Friends
Home sickness, slipping across the street to the snack bar for a burger and running everywhere.  It was not too hard to keep up the pace of basic training.  I was in cross country in high school and in good shape.  The chow was good and I managed to put on some weight.  The KD range on the beach was great, going to the beach and shooting the M1 was enjoyable and educational. I was skinny in those days.  I'm in the third row from the top, the last soldier on the left side.  The highlight of my time here was when my mom and Aunt Jean came up for a visit half way thru the basic training.
