Description
The US Army 05B AIT (Advanced Individual Training) Radio Operators Course is a specialized training program for soldiers who will be responsible for operating and maintaining radio communications equipment in various military settings.

During the course, soldiers will receive instruction in basic electronics and radio theory, as well as practical training in radio operation, maintenance, and repair. They will learn how to set up and operate a variety of radio equipment, including single-channel radios, multi-channel radios, and satellite communications systems.

Soldiers will also receive training in radio wave propagation and antenna theory, as well as signal security and transmission protocols. They will learn how to use cryptographic equipment to secure communications and how to troubleshoot and repair radio equipment in the field.

The course typically lasts between 17 and 21 weeks and is conducted at the Army Signal School at Fort Gordon, Georgia. In addition to classroom instruction, soldiers will also participate in hands-on training exercises and field training exercises to apply their skills in realistic scenarios.

Upon completion of the course, soldiers will be qualified to work as Radio Operators in a variety of settings, including military intelligence and communications operations. They may also be assigned to work in tactical units or as part of larger communication networks.
