Melvin was postumously promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Melvin was married (Dec 1, 1968) to Christene Brown of 1308 Look Out Lane, Lititz, Pensylvania.
They were members of The First Church Of God.
Father: Harvey C. Wink
Mother: Katherine M. Berger
Survived by two sisters: Eleanor C., wife of James Harter, Talmage. and Arlene R. wife of Carl Sensenig, Ephrata and four brothers, Richard C., in the US Army, stationed at Aberdeen, MD., and Harry E., Roy D. and Dennis J., all at home.
Melvin was drafted in February 1969.
Mel graduated from Conestoga Valley High School in 1967.
His tour in Vietnam started July 9, 1969 and ended about 1 month before he was scheduled to return to the states (June 1, 1970).
Mel was born in Bareville, Pennsylvania.  He loved Hunting and Baseball.  He is buried in Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery in Brunnerville, Lancaster County, Pensylvania.
