Sgt. Torres-Rivera died April 06,1965.  He was 25 years old and from Peurto Rico.  He died serving with the 25th Division's Shotgun program prior to the squadron's deployment.

His Helicopter 114 AHC  AUH-1 (tail number # 63-08667)  was shot down by .50 Cal, crashed inverted and exploded.  The others in his crew that died were 1st Lt. Raymond E. Rupcic [AC]; Cpt. Charles G. Tucker [CP]; Sp4 Clarence L. Jones [CE]; and of course, SGT Rafael Torres-Rivera [G].
