His Helicopter 114 AHC AUH-1 (tail number # 63-08667) was shot down by .50 Cal, crashed inverted and exploded. The others in his crew that died were 1st Lt. Raymond E. Rupcic [AC]; Cpt. Charles G. Tucker [CP]; Sp4 Clarence L. Jones [CE]; and of course, SGT Rafael Torres-Rivera [G].
