PFC Santos was killed by enemy fire while serving with Charlie Battery, 6th Bn, 29th Arty in the Central Highlands of the Republic of Vietnam.

He was 20 years old at the time of his death. 

He is buried at Resurrection Cemetery South San Gabriel, CA.
