Last Known Activity
Colonel George L. Miller graduated from West Point in 1946. He served as an Armor officer during his long career. He obtained an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania

"He was in senior staff positions with Department of the Army, the Office of the Secretary of the Army, and the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. He especially enjoyed commanding the 4th Squadron of the 7th Cavalry in Korea in 1965-66, just after attendance at the Army War College. (His) final assignment was as the Senior Advisor to the 24th Special Tactical Zone in Vietnam "

He was assigned to Advisory Team 24, MACV as a passenger aboard a UH-1D (#66-16699) Huey helicopter that was hit by small arms fire, resulting in loss of power at a low altitude above thick jungle and crashed.
