Sergeant Terry Alan Hodges was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, SGT Hodges served our country until August 19th, 1968 in Tay Ninh, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was not married. Terry died from multiple fragmentation wounds from a rocket propelled grenade. His body was recovered. Terry was born on September 21st, 1946 in Charlotte, North Carolina. SGT Hodges is on panel 48W, line 055 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. He served our country for one year. He was a close friend. One of a kind personality. We were posting the road leading into Tay Ninh as a blocking force. When his Sgt gave orders to come through our platoon which was A Troop 1st Platoon, and as he approached 3rd platoon he was taken out by an RPG from the NVA. Best regards go to his family. Larry Heath, 902 Zimmerman St. Nashville, Ga. 31639.
Friend and former Comrade. A Friend not forgotten in over 37 years Terry and I went through basic training at Fort Bragg, NC in 1968. He was a wonderful person. I remember his family visiting him, as he was from Charlotte, NC. I now live in the Charlotte area, and I have never forgotten Terry, even after all these years. I still think of him often. He left a lasting impression. God bless Terry Hodges and his family. Will Pleasants, 110 Newport Dr, Kannapolis, NC 28081, newhavenwillp@aol.com
