Pvt. Johnson was assigned to Camp Campo at the Border (US) then transferred overseas where he fought in Italy and France. He was KIA 14 December 1944 (the same day as his brother-in-law, Lt. Halloran Soules (Sowles) KIA over Rangoon, Burma). Pvt. Johnson was KIA near Lembach, France.
