His branch was actually EN - Engineers.  During the 1960's Combat Engineers - EN was a separate branch than CE - Corps of Engineers.

The Virtual Wall shows his parent unit as 79th Engineer Group.  This group was assigned in Germany at the time.  His company, 544th Engineer Company was stationed in Vung Tau under the 20th Engineer Brigade.
