PFC Paul Guida enlisted on 14 December 1971.

He, according to the Tucson news reports, was bitten by his pet dog and died of the rabies contracted from that injury at Tan Son Nhut AB. The initial injury had occurred on 28 December 1973. He lay unconscious from the disedase that was complicated by encephalitis.

He was the first solder to die of rabies in Vietnam.

He was interred in Evergreen Memorial Park, Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, Plot: Block 30.
