Last Known Activity
Larry was walking point for the 2d Platoon of C Co., 3-1st Inf., 11th LIB, Americal Div. on 20 Sep 70 in the highlands west of Quang Ngai City when an NVA machine gun initiated an ambush. Larry was struck multiple times and died instantly. The grenadier behind him, Bob Kurtz, was struck in the hand and lost a couple of fingers and was shipped back to the states.
