Private Weaver was a member of the 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Pau-gol, North Korea on 18 July 1953. 

Larry was buried at Merced Cemetery District (formerly Asphodel Cemetery), Merced, Merced County, California.

Date of birth on his gravestone is incorrect and should reflect July 18, 1931. Posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor.
