Private First Class Wood was a member of the 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on July 24, 1953. 

Paul is buried at Valhalla Memorial Park, Burbank, Humboldt, CA. Son of Mr. James Union Wood and Elva L. Davis Wood of Missouri. Rural Pike County, Missouri, near Bowling Green, Missouri. Enlisted in California.
