PRIVATE DALE W. FIELD SON OF RAY AND MAGGIE FIELD OF REEDSVILLE WEST VIRGINIA WAS REPORTED AS KILLED IN ACTION / DIED WHILE MISSING IN SICILY ON 11 JULY 1945. HE WAS SERVING WITH THE 157TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 45TH INFANTRY DIVISION. THE DATE REPORTED DOES NOT ALIGN WITH THE UNITS TIME LINE OR THE WW2 CAMPAIGN TIME LINE. DURING JULY OF 1945 THE REGIMENT WAS ON OCCUPATION DUTY IN GERMANY.  PRIVATE FIELD WAS MOST LIKELY KILLED IN ACTION DURING THE ROME-ARNO OR SICILY CAMPAIGN.
