Comments/Citation PFC Henry Albert Franks (RA 15275962) was born October 8, 1931 in Jay County, Indiana. He enlisted in the Army (Infantry) probably right around his birthday in 1949 when he turned eighteen as many young men do. That being the case and after his basic combat training he was then assigned to the 25th Reconnaissance Company of the 25th Infantry Division which in early 1950 found itself in Occupation Duty in Osaka, Japan. They were sent from Yokohama, Japan to Korea on July 13, 1950 and landed at Pusan on July 17, 1950 and were immediately committed to battle in the Pusan Perimeter. Eleven days later, Henry was KIlled In Action while Missing in Action in the Pusan Perimeter of South Korea. His body was recovered and was interned at Union Chapel Cemetery in Jay County, Indiana. He was survived by his parents, Orvel Leroy Franks (1904 - 1953) and Clara E. Corle ( - 1983).
