Last Known Activity
Sgt. Carl George was drafted in 1946 at Houston, Texas. He served two years in Germany with an Intelligence Unit of the USA. He then served in the Reserves until he was called up for the Korean War.

In Korea, Sergeant George served with A Company, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division.

He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy when his unit was attacked by Chinese and North Korean forces near Hoengsong, South Korea on 12 February 1951. He was kept as a POW at Suan, where he died. He was listed as MIA.

His remains were recovered in 1990 when the Koreans turned over unidentified remains. He was identified on 14 April 2010.

He was interred in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, on 19 March 2011.
