09 Oct 69; Lawrence D. Acre, MAJ 0-4, Launch Site Cmdr; William H. Morris, Jr., CPT 0-3, Asst Launch Site Cmdr and Robert R. Miller, SFC E-7, Launch Site NCOIC, MLSS, USASF, CCS.-KIA. The commander was taking SFC Miller who was a replacement along with other staff on a fly over of the Area of Operation to familiarize them to the operational area. The Helicopter crashed in the Quan Loi area, all personnel on board, including air crew were killed.
