A Millersville area Army helicopter pilot became the 46th Lancaster Countian to be killed in action in Vietnam.
Warrant Officer Kenneth Eugene Witmer, 20, son of Paul M. and Ethel Stekervetz Witmer, 97 Safe Harbor Road, Millersville R1.
Witmer, a member of the 129th Assault Helicopter Company, stationed at Lane Army Heliport, Qui Nhon, was killed last Tuesday, May 13.
He was born in Lancaster, and graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1966. He was a member of Stehman Memorial United Methodist Church, and was employed at Rice Brothers Plumbing Company, Millersville, before entering the service on September 27, 1967.
Survivors, besides his parents, include brothers, Jay W. Witmer, and James D.Witmer; and a sister, Kathy S. Witmer, all at home; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stekervetz, Conestoga.
