SSG Ken Brown, C Company, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, RVN 1968 - 1969. SSG Brown knew CPT Umstot and was with CPT Samuel Umstot, Field Medical Assistant, and PFC Kenneth Martin, a medic, when they both were killed in action while attending to the wounds of fellow soldiers after an ambush. Several soldiers lost their lives in this ambush on 12 September 1968, near Loc Ninh, close to Hwy 14A in Binh Long Province, RVN.
