BALASSONE SON OF JOSEPH BALASSONE AND ANNA LA CIRITA WAS BORN IN ALBERT, TUCKER COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA AND WAS EMPLOYED AS A LOCOMOTIVE FIREMAN PRIOR TO ENTERING THE U.S. ARMY ON 17 MARCH 1942. T/3 BALASSONE SERVED IN THE PACIFIC WITH BATTERY C, 22ND ANTI-AIRCRAFT SEARCH LIGHT BATTALION FROM 16 OCTOBER 1944 TO 25 DECEMBER 1945. GUY BALASSONE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED AT FORT KNOX, KENTUCKY ON 10 JANUARY 1946. GUY PASSED AWAY ON 2 AUGUST 1972 IN BUFFALO, NEW YORK. THERE WERE THREE BALASONE BROTHERS T/3 ANTHONY THOMAS AND SERGEANT JOHN J. BALASSONE.
